New Superman star David Corenswet praised a James Bond film, calling it one of the best of all time, while sharing his theory about a scene that most people may have overlooked.

In his recent appearance on Brittany Broski's Royal Court on YouTube, Corenswet discussed pop culture topics, including the 007 series.

Corenswet mentioned Casino Royale, which marked Daniel Craig's debut as Bond, and labelled it “the greatest Bond film ever made.”

The movie has also been ranked among the best Bond films in fan polls and across the internet.

The DC star highlighted the opening sequence of Casino Royale, which features a conversation between Bond and an MI6 section chief who has been selling state secrets.

Bond recalls his first kill during the confrontation, but it's his cold, effortless shooting of the section chief that seals his 00 status with a second, more decisive kill.

However, Corenswet offered a distinctive take on Bond’s second kill.

“Everybody thinks that the second kill is when Bond kills the main bad guy in the office later, and he’s like, ‘Yes, considerably,’” Corenswet said. “But what actually happened is, experientially, Bond already had his second kill because he drowned the guy and then had to shoot him.”

According to the Superman actor, in Bond’s experience, he had already gone through the process of a second kill — having drowned his target, even though the man appeared to revive.

“Bond thought that he had had his first kill, and then the guy woke up, and he just shot him. So that’s actually the second kill in his mind, and that was super easy,” said Corenswet.
