Benny Blanco made a surprising confession about his way of identifying own songs.
In a recent interview, Blanco, whose real name is Benjamin Joseph Levin, revealed that after collaborating with many iconic singers and creating chart-topping hits for Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Rihanna, and Maroon 5, he often finds it challenging to remember all the songs he created.
On Thursday, July 10 episode of Therapuss with Jake Shane, the 37-year-old record producer admitted he often relies on a music recognition app to distinguish when one of his own tracks is playing.
He began the discussion by recalling his first hit collaboration, stating, "The first, like ,big pop thing that I ever worked on was Britney Spears,"
"Sometimes I am in a restaurant and I'm like, 'Oh my god, this song's so good.' And I Shazam it, and then it's my own song," during the unfiltered interview the songwriter recounted an instance.
However, the Bluest Flame singer humorously stated the reason for his slipping memory, explaining, "I'm old and I can't remember anything. And I've done like hundreds of songs that have come out.”
For the unversed, the I Found You hitmaker recently partnered up with his fiancée, Selena Gomez, on the album I Said I Love You First, premiered in March 2025.
