Jennifer Lopez is giving insight into her struggles during her relationship with ex-husband Ben Affleck, via her songs.
The Jenny from the Block singer hosted an intimate listening party for fans, in which debuted some ever-before-heard songs, along with one which pointedly seemed to be discussing her relationship with the Deep Water actor.
Along with tracks called Up All Night, Regular, Free, and Save Me Tonight the Shotgun Wedding star sang an emotional pop ballad called Wreckage of You.
A lucky attendee of the gathering told Us Weekly of Lopez discussing the song with, “She mentioned how last year was a very difficult time for her both personally and professionally. She had to cancel her tour and really focus on herself.”
They continued, stating that she ““kept thinking of the word ‘wreck’ because it means destruction, but she wasn’t destroyed,” as is indicated by the lyrics of the song.
Apparently the hook that mentions the song name has her singing, “I’m stronger after the wreckage of you.”
Other fans who were present during the listening party verified that the song was indeed about walking away from a relationship as someone who was stronger than before.
Ben Affleck has been married twice. He was married to Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018 and later got married to Jennifer Lopez in 2022, eventually splitting in 2024.
