Tupac Shakur’s death, which occurred in 1996, was detailed by his old friend and the owner of Death Row Records Suge Knight.
Suge, 60, is the only living witness of the rapper’s assassination. He was behind the wheels when another car pulled up and opened shots at Tupac, sitting in the passengers seat.
However, the music mogul gave details about a bizarre ritual that was arranged after Dear Mama hitmaker passed away.
While speaking in a telephonic interview with People, the former NFL player alleged that Afeni Shakur, late musician’s mother, held a cremation ceremony immediately.
Tupac’s ashes were then smoked through a blunt by many of his friends, however, Suge did not participate.
According to the City of Lies star, the cremated remains were in a bag that “was passed around. His homies rolled him up.” He added: “They smoked him.”
He was happy that he was “on probation” which is why the music producer “couldn’t smoke.”
Although Afeni was insistent that he too should take part in the rite, the record executive refused by saying: “I’d love to, but if I hit that, I’ll get in trouble.”
The star, who is currently serving 28 years in prison for another case, gave a detailed account of the fatal incident on September 7, 1996.
The two were returning from Mike Tyson’s boxing championship when the rapper was allegedly shot nine times by a South Side Crip gang member Deandre “Big Dre Smith.”
