Justin Baldoni backs off after $400m case dismissed

Justin Baldoni, who is the filmmaker of It Ends With Us, has changed his course of action in his legal battle with Blake Lively.

The 41-year-old faced a major setback after his lawsuit against the actress and Ryan Reynolds was dismissed.

However, Justin’s attorney Bryan Freedman revealed that they are not amending and refiling their case as they are primarily focused on the filmmaker’s defence.

According to Page Six, Bryan declared that the dismissal has no impact “on the truth that there was no harassment nor any smear campaign.”

He added that the motion “ does not in any way affect our vigorous defense against Ms. Lively’s claims.”

This came after Judge Liman maintained in his ruling that the suit by the director and his team “have not alleged that Lively is responsible for any statements” other than those in her complaint.

However, Judge provided the Jane the Virgin actor to refile the case with amended claims until June 23.

On the other hand, Blake’s representative told the outlet that the defamation case against the actress has been dropped “in its entirety,” calling it “a total victory after all.”

How did It Ends With Us drama begin?

Justin’s case against the actress came after Blake accused him of sexual harassment and starting a smear campaign against her in the initial lawsuit. The filmmaker has continued to deny the allegations.
