Beloved country singer Ronnie McDowell was rushed to the hospital only a few songs into a performance due to a sudden medical emergency.
At the Summer Solstice Music Festival in Oley, Pennsylvania, the singer was “three or four songs” into his performance when his words began slurring and he was “not making sense.”
As of right now, he is still in a hospital in Reading undergoing tests after it was thought by the manager that he was having a stroke.
Tyler Dean McDowell, his son and also a singer, took to social media to write, “Just wanted to let everyone know — I made it to Pennsylvania. Ronnie Dean & I are in the room with Dad. He’s talking to us, and we’re waiting to do the MRI. As soon as I know more, so will y’all. Love Forever.”
A few hours later, he provided an update, “2nd update: Brought dad some Popcorners and a Kombucha (snacks he likes). Ronnie Dean brought his comfy shows, favorite brush, and Vietnam hat. Dad was very excited about all this — like a kid in a candy store. Figured y’all could use a lil’ levity.”
