It has been 50 years since Jaws was released in the United States, making it the highest grossing movie of the time and establishing Steven Spielberg as a great filmmaker.
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the iconic shark attack movie, Steven talked about the filming process.
In the upcoming documentary, Jaws @ 50: The Definitive Inside Story, from National Geographic, the director said making the movie has an impact on his mental health.
“When the film wrapped Martha's Vineyard, I had a full-blown panic attack”, he admitted.
“I was in it, shall I say, over my head, for about seven or eight months on Martha's Vineyard. It was, logistically, I think the most difficult movie I think I'll ever make.”.
Steven said he could not breath and thought he was having a “heart attack”.
Jaws was released on June 20, 1975 and instantly became a hit. It is often regarded as one of the best thrillers ever made.
Jaws became the highest grossing movie of its time as it made $477 million worldwide.
