Who isn’t on the edge of their seat for the highly anticipated Stranger Things 5 finale?
The adrenaline-rushing excitement has swept the audience as Netflix unveils a new and eerie audio teaser just before its Netflix TUDUM panel, which took place on May 31.
The show's official Instagram shared a 30-second cryptic snippet, featuring the distorted and high-frequency radio voices of unknown origin.
The puzzling audio clip begins with classic radio frequency-based sounds before culminating in what can only be described as horrifyingly distorted stomping or banging & thumping voices.
Around 7 seconds in, listeners can also catch a transient and undifferentiated voice, leaving people clueless.
What makes the message more perplexing is the fact that it was posted with no transcribed details or dialogue, leaving fans scratching their heads and making up some theories regarding “something big is coming.”
Since the posting of the enigmatic audio clip, the fans’ speculations have taken the discussion forums by storm and various hypotheses have been making rounds on the internet.
Starting with the radio voice as no one can deny the thematic role of radio signals throughout the epic series.
These signals act as bridges of communication between the real world and the forbidden Upside Down world and indicate the presence of supernatural creatures, like Vecna and his army.
One fan speculates: “It wouldn’t surprise me if they introduced a new monster, indicating stomping noise at the end.”
Another one relates the distorted voice with gunshots and footsteps, theorising the marching of Vecna’s army towards Hawkins and breaking through the fragile barrier between dimensions.
Maybe the “War of the Worlds” is coming to the midwestern town of Hawkins.
Another fan poses the “Radio antenna theory” based on the static voice, hinting at using the radio antenna, maybe WSQK radio station, to tap into the Upside Down dimension.
One has gone to greater lengths by translating the audio into a battle scene of Vecna’s army invading the real world.
