Logan Paul is making his long-awaited return to Japan after that infamous fall-from-grace moment.

Back in 2017, the internet superstar took a trip to the country’s Aokigahara forest, which is known as a suicide spot.

Paul wandered in the woods, filmed the body of a dead person and shared the video on his YouTube channel.

The act drew significant criticism and an online petition urging YouTube to remove Paul’s channel received over 700,000 signatures.

Paul deleted the video and apologised for his actions on several occasions. However, he faced financial and reputational setbacks with many organisations cancelling their business arrangements with the YouTuber.

The 30-year-old has since mostly salvaged his reputation and has his own podcast, IMPAULSIVE, where he has had thoughtful conversations with influential figures like Donald Trump.

He is also in the middle of an impressive run in World Wrestling Entertainment, where he has won several accolades including the United States Championship.

As part of his redemption, Paul has also agreed to go back to Japan to do a joint stream with popular streamer Adin Ross.

The former U.S. Champion recently appeared on Ross’ stream on Kick, where he was asked to visit the vibrant country.

Paul was hesitant at first but seemingly agreed to revisit Japan and said, “How about this: If I go back, and I’m invited back, I’m welcomed back by Japanese people and the country of Japan — let’s do a stream.”

If Paul does make his return, it would likely help him finally move past one of the ugliest controversies of his career.

Is Logan Paul banned in Japan?

In an August 2024 episode of his IMPAULSIVE podcast, Logan Paul clarified that he is not banned from visiting Japan despite the “suicide forest” controversy.
