Coachella weekend has began in California with many emerging and well-established musicians performing for the crowd.

American singer Benson Boone was one of the performers on day 1 when he performed his chart-topping single Beautiful Things. The singer also announced his second album American Heart at the stage, that will release on June 25, 2025.

Another surprise was the arrival of rock legend Brian May on stage, who is known for being the lead guitarist and backing vocalist of the rock band Queen.

Brian May joined Benson to perform the band’s 1975 hit Bohemian Rhapsody with his guitar solo, earning the duo a roar of applause from the crowd.

Brian later posted a photo on Instagram captioned: “Do we look happy ? !!! Gonna treasure this moment on the plane with @bensonboone – a truly golden 22 year old prodigy.”

Bohemian Rhapsody is considered one of the greatest songs of all time for its complex structure, technical advancement, lyrics and strong vocals.

Is Queen still active?

Rock band Queen is still active, though the line up has changed since the death of the lead vocalist Freddie Mercury. The original members, Brian May and Roger Taylor, are still touring with Adam Lambert as the lead vocalist.
