King Charles and Queen Camilla released a moving statement as the couple kicked off their four-day state visit to Italy.
Buckingham Palace shared delightful photos and a video of the royal couple in which the two were beaming with joy ahead of their 20th wedding anniversary.
Charles and Camilla penned a personal message, which reads, "As we begin our first visit to Italy as King and Queen, we are so looking forward to celebrating our twentieth wedding anniversary in such a special place – and with such wonderful people! A presto, Roma e Ravenna!"
For the unversed, King and Queen began their tour on April 7 and the historic visit will come to an end on April 10.
It is important to note that the monarch has visited Italy 17 times as the Prince of Wales whilst Camilla has visited twice. Notably, this is the first time the couple will visit as King and Queen.
The Palace's spokesperson shared that King Charles and Queen Camilla's tour will "underscore the depth and breadth of that bilateral relationship, and the links between our peoples."
