Damon Wayans reveals shocking details about his life after divorce

Damon Wayans made "family gatherings awkward" with an unexpected revelation following his split from ex-wife, Lisa Thorner.

The Lethal Weapon star opened up about falling in love with one of his relative’s exes to Shannon Sharpe in an installment of the April 2 episode of the former NFL star’s the Club Shay Shay podcast.

Damon candidly shared that he dated his nephew’s ex-girlfriend all the way back in 2001, detailing that his nephew and the girl hadn’t been “in love” with each other, but he had.

“I was in love with her, that’s the thing," the 64-year-old reminisced, before asking Shannon, “You ain’t never done the Jackson 5?”

The Major Payne actor was referring to another public incident of a similar nature - Jermaine Jackson marrying brother Randy Jackson’s ex-girlfriend, Alejandra Oaziaza.

The 56-year-old, who was visibly shocked, replied, “Hell nah, I ain’t never did that. I mean, for a family member, that’s off limits, Damon.”

Damon then went on to explain that once he realised that she was previously linked with his nephew, he asked his consent to go forth with the relationship saying, “I’m like, you know, ‘What’s up?’ and he’s like, ‘That’s you.’ And I’m like, ‘Okay, pass the Courvoisier, let’s go!”

The Bulletproof actor is close with his family, both in his personal and professional life, as he has shared the screen with quite a few of his siblings.
