Robert Downey Jr.’s son wishes ‘dad’ on his 60th birthday

Robert Downy Jr., known for his iconic role in Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has hit a new milestone.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron star turned 60 on Friday, April 4 and his son Indio, 31, jumped on the opportunity to wish his father a happy birthday.

Indio took to Instagram to share a now-and-then pictures of him with Robert, with the throwback picture being black-and-white, showing a toddler Indio kissing his father on the cheek as he looked into the camera pouting while wearing a white T-shirt that read “Brat.”

The first picture from the set was a coloured shot of the father-son duo, smiling side by side at an event.

The throwback post was captioned, "It’s the big 6-0 for the legend @robertdowneyjr! happy birthday dad [heart emoji] you’re the best."

Robert shares son Indio with his ex-wife Deborah Falconer, whom he separated from in 2004.

Indio has been vocal about his love for his “legendary” father along with his appreciation for being in an environment that allowed his creativity to flourish.

The Cigarettes in Bed singer told People in 2024, “My dad actually really inspired me to play music when I was young.”

He continued, saying, "I was very fortunate to grow up in an artistic family, which allowed me to develop my creativity and my talents.”

Notably, Indio made his big screen debut in 2005, where he played a younger version of his dad in Kiss Kiss Bang.
