Child actor Drake Bell appeared on the podcast from his former co-star Josh Peck, Good Guys, where he opened up about the sexual abuse he suffered on the set of their show.
Reflecting on the truths revealed in the docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, the actor admitted being stressed about Peck’s reaction after the former reported allegations of child sexual abuse.
The Investigative Discovery series revealed interviews with several child stars and actors who had alleged that they had suffered sexual abuse, inappropriate behaviour and toxic environments at their workplace with Nickelodeon.
The series was the first time Bell spoke about his allegations against dialogue coach Brian Peck who was arrested and charged with “lewd acts with a child” in 2003.
“Where I felt most comfortable, where I was the happiest, was when I was on set with you guys,” said Bell to Peck, “And the worst part was, every day I got there, the monster was there.”
Reflecting on his anxieties, he added, “When this drops, is Josh going to look at me and be like, ‘Bro, you took our dream away?’ … Like, are we going to lose our show? Dude, I was losing my hair. Like, I had these giant scabs on my head.”
Bell’s identity in the case had not been revealed until the release of the docuseries last year.
