Joe Gatto is attempting to set the record straight.
The Impractical Jokers star was recently accused of sexual assault by a supposed fan in a series of TikTok videos.
The fan, who is currently identified by her TikTok username ‘joozyb,’ claimed the incident happened “right after” she turned 19, coinciding with Joe’s reconciliation with his wife, Bessy.
The accuser said she first met Joe at a restaurant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She later texted Joe to get free tickets to his show later in the evening. In response, Joe left free tickets for her at the box office with meet-and-greet access.
According to the fan, Joe later invited her to the hotel where he was staying. She admitted being drunk during the interaction and agreed to go to his place.
The woman claims Joe sexually assaulted her after she got to the hotel. She also shared a picture of her injury sustained during the alleged assault.
The accuser's videos were widely circulated online in the past few days, prompting Joe to respond.
In a statement to TMZ, Joe acknowledged the errors he made in the past which resulted in losing the trust of the people close to him.
However, the comedian categorically denied assaulting “anyone” and disclosed he is stepping away from the public eye for self-improvement.
In 2021, Joe announced that he was leaving Impractical Jokers to focus on his personal life after his separation from Bessy.
