Shakira cancels Peru concert after hospitalization

Shakira, a Colombian singer, has had to cancel her concert that was meant to take place in Peru after being hospitalized.

The 48 year old, who was admitted to the hospital on 15 February, is currently on her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour. She took to her Instagram on 16 February to explain the situation.

“I am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue and am currently hospitalized,” she wrote.

Revealing that she had to cancel the show at the National Stadium of Peru due to her doctors’ suggestion, she added that they “have communicated that I am not in good enough condition to perform this evening.”

“I am very sad to not be able to take the stage today,” the singer continued, saying that she has “been looking forward to reuniting with my incredible fans here in Peru.”

As for the people who were meant to go to the cancelled show, she said that her “team and the promoters are already working on a new date to communicate to you.”

“Thank you all for your understanding, I love you all,” Shakira concluded, not diving into details concerning her abdominal pain.
