Steve Burton finalises divorce from wife two years after split

Steve Burton has finalised his divorce from ex-wife Sheree Gustin Burton two years after being separated.

As per the court documents, obtained by PEOPLE, the former couple, who shared two minor kids, have divorced on mutual terms.

The General Hospital alum and his ex-wife, who share a daughter, Makena Grace Burton, and a son, Jack Marshall Burton, agreed to have joint physical and legal custody of their minor children.

The outlet further reported that Sheree is entitled to have $12,500 from Burton in the name of child support until April 2024, from that time onwards he has to pay $10,000 per month.

As per the documents, the petitioner and the respondents waived their right to seek spousal support "now or at any time in the future, regardless of the unforeseen circumstances that may exist in the future."

In spite of that, the Days of Our Lives actor will have to pay retroactive support worth $50,000 to his estranged wife.

The spokesperson of The Young and the Restless alum, previously, confirmed to the outlet that Burton had filed for divorce from his wife.

He tied the knot with Sheree in 1999 after the two crossed paths on the set of General Hospital.

The actor stated the reason for their divorce as "irreconcilable differences" and the date of their separation was marked as March 1.

The court filings come two months after the soap opera star stunned fans with a shocking announcement that he and his then-wife were no longer together.
