Selena Gomez's new single, Single Soon, is all about love and independence.
Gomez, 31, released Single Soon on Friday, her first song since November's My Mind & Me, which was released accompanying her Apple TV+ documentary.
She marked the occasion by posting a black-and-white photo from the song's music video in which she is all smiles while surrounded by dancers.
"Thank you guys for all the love on Single Soon!!!" she wrote in the caption before elaborating more on the song’s message.
"It’s a playful anthem about being comfortable in your own skin and loving your own company… and it’s also really fun to dance to!"
The song was released few days after fans began discovering Single Soon? flyers throughout the United States, as well as a website — illbesinglesoon.com — that was tied to Gomez's record label, Interscope Records.
She had teased new songs as recently as June by uploading a carousel of photographs of herself in the studio on Instagram. "Don't worry, guys, it's coming," she captioned the images. "Even from Paris."
Gomez said is a press statement about Single Soon that she “wanted to give her fans a fun end of the summer song to enjoy as they’ve been patiently waiting for new music."
She explained on Instagram that she's "not quite done" with her upcoming album, but she wants to offer her fans something to tide them over.
"I wanted to put out a fun little song I wrote a while back that’s perfect for the end of summer," the Only Murders in the Building actress said.
