Angela Thorne, known for her role in the BBC’s To The Manor Born, has died. She was 84.
The news was confirmed by her family on Monday.
"The actress Angela Thorne died peacefully at her home on the 16th of June. She was 84 years old," her son Rupert said in a statement.
"She was the beloved wife of Peter Penry Jones, and is survived by her two sons Rupert and Laurie Penry Jones and her grandchildren, Florence, Peter, Giorgio and Delilah.
"We will all miss her very much," he added.
The late actress kicked off her career by playing gigs in various theatres, including the Caryl Jenner Children’s Theatre, Theatre Royal in Windsor, Ralph Richardson Theatre, and more.
She later went on to appear in The Human Factor, North Sea Hijack, The BFG, Three Up, Two Down, and Cold Comfort Farm.
In 1967, Angela tied the knot with husband Peter Penry-Jones, who co-starred with her in many episodes of To The Manor Born before passing away of bowel cancer in 2009.
Thorne also appeared in an episode of the BBC’s Who Do You Think You Are in 2010, in which she featured alongside her son Rupert.
