Dwayne Johnson ‘The Rock’ has lost his worth.
Johnson, rather shockingly, did not place among the top five entertainers listed by Forbes in their annual list earlier this year. He actually failed to place in the top 10 at all.
Johnson's passion project, Black Adam (2022), which was part of the DC Extended Universe, failed to find success at the box office, making the end of 2022 a gloomy chapter in the life of the renowned actor.
The "saviour" of the DCEU actually made only $390 million worldwide and had a poor reception from both reviewers and audience members. When Shazam!'s actor revealed that Johnson had leaked financial data indicating that the film had made a profit, things took an even more dramatic turn.
Zachary Levi, Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023) star supported charges that Johnson's apparent egotism and self-serving behaviour damaged the DCEU series.
However, Johnson might be able to charm his way back into some of the most important forthcoming movies. Johnson returned to the Fast franchise in Fast X (2023) as an uncredited appearance after a protracted rivalry with Vin Diesel. In Red One (2023), he will co-star with Chris Evans.
Johnson's involvement in Fast X hints that he will return to the series as a prominent character, and with considerable box office success, the actor may join the list once more.
Johnson will then probably reprise his part as Maui in the planned live-action Disney adaptation of Moana (2016) a few years from now. Johnson and his production business Seven Bucks Productions announced the movie in April, joining The Walt Disney business in reviving the classic on the big screen.
This positions him to remain among the top earners for the coming several years. The XFL, the American football league he co-owns, suffered a recent multi-million-dollar loss, which could hurt his prospects of making the top 10 list the following year.
