Post Malone is being generous.
'Congratulations' from Post Malone to a soon-to-be homeowner who is a Scottish musician who the singer-songwriter assisted in realising his dream of owning his first house.
Malone, who is now on his Twelve Carat tour, was in Glasgow for a performance at the Hydro when he entered the Wunderbar pub and started chatting with 30-year-old Scottish musician Gregor Hunter Coleman.
Malone discovered Coleman, a frequent performer at the bar, had stopped drinking because he had been saving his money to purchase a house after offering to buy Coleman a drink.
Therefore, the 10-time Grammy-nominated rapper chose to secure Coleman's house down payment rather than purchasing a beverage.
Malone, 27, expressed his appreciation for Coleman's performance by telling him that he "smashed it" and afterwards requested Coleman to play at the after-party of his concert.
"He started saying, how much will you charge? I said nothing, it's Post Malone, this is the chance of a lifetime," Coleman revealed details about the encounter to the BBC.
Malone volunteered to cover a portion of the deposit for a house Coleman was interested in buying because he wanted to help the musician finally in some manner.
"He offered to help me out with my deposit so I could have more time to focus on music, which I thought was wild," Coleman shared with STV News.
Later, Coleman thanked Malone on Instagram by sharing a snapshot of the two of them with the following caption, “Never thought whilst heading out the door with my guitar on Friday night for my gig at @wunderbarglasgow that I'd meet @postmalone and have such a life-changing experience.”
Coleman and Malone also swapped phone numbers in addition to the cash, the sum of which Coleman decided not to disclose. Coleman said he is now concentrating on writing original songs to share with the rapper in the hopes that Malone "likes them."
