Emma Watson almost made Daniel Radcliffe cry on Harry Potter set

Daniel Radcliffe has recalled a cruel prank Emma Watson pulled on him when they were kids.

In an interview, the 33-year-old actor revealed that his Harry Potter costar told him that his favorite band Libertines was breaking up, sending the actor into a spiral.

“Emma Watson, when I was like 14, told me that one of my favorite bands had broken up,” he shared.

Radcliffe explained that it was actually April 1st – April Fools’ Day – but he hadn’t deduced it at the time.

“It was like, really early in the morning so I hadn’t even got that it was April 1st yet,” the actor continued.

“I was a fan of this band called the Libertines, who were very fractious and they might have broken up at any point, and she came in and went, ‘It’s happened, it’s finally happened,” he recalled.

However, the Jungle star ended up getting so upset that Watson had to break the act and tell him the truth.

“But she just had to immediately say, ‘No, no, no, it’s a joke, it’s April Fool’s’, because I didn’t cry, but my face was like, ashen… My lip quivered, definitely,”

The endearing recollection comes after it was reported that a Harry Potter TV series is currently under development with its original author J.K. Rowling set to executive produce.
