BTS member Suga will be part of promotional activities for the NBA

BTS member Suga has been named as an NBA Ambassador

BTS member Suga and the National Basketball Association has announced a collaboration in which the k-pop star was named as an NBA Ambassador.

As part of the collaboration, Suga will be "engaging with NBA fans around the world through the remainder of the 2022-23 NBA season and beyond."

While the collaboration may come to as a surprise for many, it is actually no coincidence as Suga is a huge NBA fan himself.

The singer will be partaking in many league initiatives that will be displayed on the NBA’s as well as his social media platforms, that includes NBA games and events across the US and Asia.

Furthermore, the press release states that the NBA "will have a presence throughout SUGA’s first solo world tour, collaborating around select concerts in celebration of the release of SUGA’s debut solo album, D-DAY."

"Music and basketball have been shared passions of mine since my youth, and it’s a dream to be named an NBA Ambassador," said SUGA of the news.

"I’m excited to formalize my relationship with the NBA, and I can’t wait to share some exciting collaborations I have planned with the league over the coming months."

"We’re thrilled to join forces with SUGA – a superstar musician, fashion icon, and passionate NBA fan," said NBA Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer Mark Tatum. 

"We look forward to working with SUGA to bring the same excitement he engenders from his global fanbase in support of our continued efforts to grow our brand."
