Tennis star Serena Williams was baptized Sunday as a Jehovah’s Witness.
The baptism took place in west Palm Beach, Florida at Jehovah’s Witness Assembly.
This comes after the 23-time Grand Slam singles championship announced her exit from the sport in order to focus on her family and faith.
"Being a Jehovah’s Witness is important to me, but I’ve never really practiced it and have been wanting to get into it." Serena said in a past interview with Vogue.
She is known for winning 23 Grad Slam titles over her two-decade career, the most by any player "in the open era" and second-most all time.
