Emily Ratajkowski takes her mothering seriously.

According to Emily Ratajkowski, she bought Sylvester, her one-year-old son, some new toys to "balance out" his intense interest in toy trucks.

In the most recent episode of her podcast, High Low with EmRata, the 31-year-old model discussed her life as a single mother following her recent divorce from Sebastian Bear-McClard, the father of her baby.

During the show, Julia Fox, a guest who has a one-year-old son named Valentino with her ex-Peter Artemiev, expressed her desire for the "conditioning to stop occurring" and her concern that her son won't "end up like every single person [she's] ever met."

Ratajkowski responded by mentioning how she is attempting to broaden her son's interests beyond his love of toy trucks.

“He gets so excited, he loves to play with things with wheels,” she explained. “And I’m like, I’m not kidding, this morning I ordered him a baby doll and a tea set. Cause I’m like, ‘we gotta balance this out.’ But also, is this just what he likes, naturally?”

Ratajkowski said that Sylvester also has a "pink convertible" after Fox mentioned that her son enjoys pushing a "pink stroller" around.

She then questioned whether providing her son with these toys, which are frequently intended for girls, will help him steer clear of cultural expectations of what a man should act like.

“I’m like, are those the little ways you can start making sure the conditioning doesn’t happen?” Ratajkowski asked. “And spending a lot of time around women.”

Bear-McClard and Ratajkowski welcomed Sylvester in March 2021. Following claims that he had cheated on her, the producer and model officially filed for divorce in September.
