Flex Wheeler totally deserves it.
At the 2022 Arnold Sports UK Festival, Flex Wheeler, one of the sport's biggest legends, was presented with a prestigious award throughout the weekend.
Flex Wheeler will be honored with the 2023 Arnold Classic Lifetime Achievement award in March at an event in Columbus, Ohio, in recognition of his achievements to the sport.
“A true legend of the sport and a continued driving force in modern bodybuilding,” wrote the Arnold UK.
Flex Wheeler had a very successful career as a bodybuilder despite never having his hands on a Sandow trophy. He came close to dethroning six-time Olympia champion Dorian Yates in 1993, but he finished in second place.
He spent years competing at the highest level. After losing out to Ronnie Coleman in 1997, he then came exceedingly close to winning Mr. Olympia in 1998 and 1999.
He is notable for having captured the Arnold Classic championship four times (1993, 1997, 1998, 2000). Wheeler paid a steep price for his achievements and illustrious career.
Sadly, "The Sultan of Symmetry" has undergone several operations. His right leg was eventually partially amputated during an operation that went wrong.
