Zack Estrin's longtime talent agency, WME confirmed on Sunday that he had passed away. Friends and family described him as a talented writer and producer who was a kind mentor to others.
The Prison Break producer was believed to be in good physical health, therefore his passing has shocked relatives and friends.
As reported by Variety Magazine Estrin died under mysterious circumstances, but it is thought that he had a heart attack while jogging on the beach.
“Zack Estrin was our everything,” Estrin’s family said in a statement. “The best husband, father, son and friend. He loved to make everyone happy. He loved to make everyone laugh. He loved being a writer/producer and being a part of creating these shows that people enjoyed. But above all, he loved his family and friends. Thank you all for being a part of his life and ours.”
The 51-years-old producer's survivors include his father, veteran TV writer Jonathan Estrin who has also served as executive VP of the American Film Institute from 2004 to 2007.
