Bob LuPone passed away.
The MCC Theatre, a renowned off-Broadway institution, was founded by LuPone, the brother of actress Patti LuPone. Deadline reported that the theatre made the announcement on Twitter of his passing on Friday.
"The MCC Theater community mourns the loss of our much loved and uniquely inspiring partner, colleague, and dear friend, Bob LuPone, who lived fearlessly and with great curiosity, good humor, a boundless passion for connection, and a whole lot of heart. We will miss him deeply and always," The paragraph read.
After reportedly battling pancreatic cancer for three years, LuPone, who was 76, apparently passed away. His wife Virginia, son Orlando, Sister Patti, and Brother William survive him.
LuPone was born on Long Island along with his siblings after being born in Brooklyn, New York. His mother oversaw the library at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, while his father was an English instructor and the headmaster of Walt Whitman High School in Huntington.
