One of Netflix’s most-watched limited-series in 2020, The Queen’s Gambit successfully bagged the best actress Golden Globe award to the leading lady Anya Taylor-Joy on Sunday.
The 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards were presented to honor the best work of the film and TV. The ceremony was held virtually due to the COVID SOPs.
The recent win marks Taylor-Joy’s first win of the Golden Globe award for best actress in a miniseries or television film for her role as Beth Harmon in the show.
Taylor-Joy, 24, was also up for a second award — best actress in a motion picture comedy or musical — for her role in Emma. Actress Rosamund Pike won the award for her performance in I Care a Lot.
While accepting her award, Taylor-Joy said, "I would love to thank Netflix … for letting us make the show we wanted to make. It's obviously wonderful that everyone's seen the show. I would do this project again and again and again; I learned so much. Thank you to the audiences that have watched it and supported the characters. It meant the world."
She opted for Law Roach, emerald Dior Haute Couture gown and Tiffany & Co. jewels. She stunned her look with Chess-print nail art inspired by The Queen's Gambit with perfection.
