Woody returns in ‘Toy Story’ 5 in toys vs tech storyline: teaser

Almost 30 years to the date of the original animated film, Toy Story, hitting theatres in November 1995, Pixar dropped the first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 on Tuesday, November 11.

The recent trailer introduces a new foe for the gang: Lilypad, an electronic game tablet voiced by Past Lives star Greta Lee.

When she’s unboxed, the original Toy Story toys, once Andy’s, now Bonnie’s, including Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), Jessie (Joan Cusack), and Forky (Tony Hale), along with Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Rex, Slinky Dog, Bullseye, and even the alien plush, react in pure panic—all set to the iconic INXS track, “Never Tear Us Apart.”

The new film is ready to hit theatres on June 19, 2026.
