A24 has released a new trailer for Josh Safdie’s Oscar-buzzed movie Marty Supreme, starring Timothée Chalamet as a ping-pong champion, Marty Mauser.
Set in the 1950s, Marty Supreme tells the story of Marty Mauser, a young man determined to become a table tennis champion.
The film is based on the real-life career of Marty Reisman, who earned five world championship medals in the sport.
Alongside Timothée Chalamet, the star-studded cast features Gwyneth Paltrow, Fran Drescher, Tyler, the Creator (Tyler Okonma), Penn Jillette, Odessa A’zion, Shark Tank investor Kevin O’Leary, and director Abel Ferrara.
In October, the film received a standing ovation during a surprise screening at the 63rd New York Film Festival, where Chalamet and Josh Safdie joined Paltrow, Okonma, A’zion, and co-writer Bronstein on stage.
Marty Supreme is set to hit theaters on December 25.
