Just a day after the Season 1 finale of The Gold, PBS Masterpiece has unveiled the first trailer for Season 2 of the gripping gold heist drama, starring Hugh Bonneville and Tom Cullen.
Fans won’t have long to wait, as the new season is set to premiere in 2026.
Season 2 picks up with the lingering mystery of more than three tons of Brinks-Mat gold stolen during the infamous 1983 raid.
Police realize that those originally convicted didn’t have the full haul, leaving a fortune unaccounted for. The new season will delve into the fate of the missing gold and the criminal empires it helped create.
The series, inspired by the true story of the 1983 Brink’s-Mat robbery in London, sees Jack Lowden (Slow Horses), Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey), Tom Cullen (Downton Abbey), Charlotte Spencer (Sanditon), and Emun Elliott (Guilt) returning in their roles.
They are joined by Stephen Campbell Moore (Masters of the Air), Sam Spruell (Fargo), Sean Teale (Doctor Odyssey), and Tom Hughes (Victoria), intensifying the hunt for the remaining stolen gold.
With high stakes, cunning criminals, and Bonneville leading the charge, The Gold Season 2 promises to be a tense, thrilling ride that digs deeper into one of Britain’s most legendary heists.
