Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried suspicious in ‘The Housemaid’ trailer

Sydney Sweeney plays the role of a housemaid with secrets, and Amanda Seyfried plays her manipulative employers in the new twisty thriller, The Housemaid.

Directed by Paul Feig and written by Rebecca Sonnenshine, The Housemaid is an adaptation of Freida McFadden's 2022 bestseller, a psychologically twisted tale with no shortage of surprises.

On Tuesday, Sept. 16, Lionsgate dropped the first trailer for the upcoming creepy movie.

The teaser for the silver-screen adaptation sets a mysterious tone around maid Millie (Sweeney), the family she serves (Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar), and the house’s groundskeeper (Michele Morrone).

According to the synopsis, Millie “soon discovers that the family’s secrets are far more dangerous than her own.”

The Housemaid will open in theatres on Dec. 19.
