Ariana Grande takes stringent legal move against online hackers

Ariana Grande recently took stringent legal move against online hackers in a new lawsuit filed on July 27 in Los Angeles.

In the court documents obtained by Variety, the suit accused a group of anonymous John Does for phishing scams and hacking schemes that have caused “unlawful and egregious theft, dissemination, and exploitation of unreleased content”.

The singer reportedly sued John Does to “uncover the identities of these currently unknown and unscrupulous individuals in order to hold them accountable for their invasive and reprehensible conduct”.

The suit said that “it is imperative to Ms. Grande to ensure on behalf of herself and others that such conduct is deterred to the fullest extent possible”.

This time, the hackers targeted Grande’s personal digital accounts who worked closely with her and then sold the data and content for “significant sums of money”.

Earlier, the songstress spoke publicly about unreleased music appearing online without her permission.

During a 2024 appearance on the Zach Sang Show, Grande opened up that Fantasise, an unreleased song that had leaked online and gained traction on TikTok.

Expressing her annoyance over the leak, the singer revealed the response to Fantasise eventually impacted some of the music she created for her 2024 album, Eternal Sunshine.

“I took the note, and I kind of gave them Ariana's version of that on the album,” she added at the time.
