Abby Elliott files for divorce from husband Bill Kennedy after 10 years of marriage

Abby Elliott and her husband Bill Kennedy are calling it quits after nearly a decade of marriage.

The Bear actress filed for divorce on Friday July 17 after separating from the television producer on July 8.

The 39-year-old cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split and is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their two children daughter Edith and son William.

The former Saturday Night Live star met Kennedy while working on the TV series Sex Ed. He proposed in October 2015 with his grandmother's ring.

Recalling the proposal Elliott previously told The Knot: "It was really beautiful and he was traditional and got down on one knee. It was just very simple, but lovely and wonderful."

The couple tied the knot in New England in 2016 in front of around 200 guests with Elliott wearing a Leanne Marshall wedding gown while Kennedy opted for a blue suit.

Reflecting on her dress choice at the time she said: "I thought I was going to go with a bohemian style, something a bit different. I ended up with something opposite."
