Ellen DeGeneres pays emotional tribute to Kris Jenner's late mother MJ

Ellen DeGeneres has shared a heartfelt message of support for Kris Jenner following the death of her mother Mary Jo "MJ" Shannon at the age of 91.

A day after Kris announced the heartbreaking news on Instagram the former talk show host paid tribute by sharing a photo of Kris with her mother.

"Portia and I know how much you loved your mother and what a special force she was in your life and your entire family‘s life. I can’t imagine the grief that you’re feeling right now. We’re sending you our love. @krisjenner," Ellen wrote.

The touching post prompted responses from Kris' daughters with Khloé Kardashian commenting "You are the sweetest!!! You’re such a great friend to my mommy."

Kourtney Kardashian also replied "awww that’s so sweet."

Kris announced her mother's passing on July 16 describing MJ as the "heart of our family."

In her tribute Kris thanked her mother for a lifetime of love and support writing "My heart is broken into a million pieces… thank you for giving me the greatest childhood and oh what a beautiful blessed life… I love you forever Mommy."
