The cause of death of former child actor Blake Garrett has been confirmed nearly five months after his passing.
According to an autopsy released by the Oklahoma Office of the Chief Medical Examiner Garrett died from acute fentanyl toxicity. His death was ruled accidental.
The 33-year-old actor was found dead at a sober living home in Tulsa, Oklahoma in February. The medical examiner's report also noted that drug paraphernalia was found at the scene.
Garrett's mother Carol Garrett previously told TMZ that her son had struggled with substance abuse in the past but had recently become sober and was working to rebuild his life.
Garrett began acting in local theater productions before landing roles in stage performances, including Barney's Colorful World. He later earned widespread recognition for playing Plug in the 2006 family comedy How to Eat Fried Worms.
Following the success of the film Garrett largely stepped away from Hollywood making only a handful of screen appearances.
