Olivia Wilde revealed she has a different concept when it comes to failing and learning.
The actress-turned-director has few major hits in her career but has also failed multiple times now.
In a candid conversation with Variety, she revealed that if you move past the disappointment, failure can feel liberating.
She stated, "You’ve already been through the thing that strikes fear in the heart of directors. What if they don’t like it? Once you’ve survived that, there’s liberation."
The 42-year-old added, "I believe in early failure. The first pilot I did got canceled in three episodes. There were a lot of early bumps, and I think that taught me to have level-headed expectations for Hollywood."
Olivia also spoke about how her successful project, Booksmart, created expectations and how it makes a person think about how they should connect with the audience despite it all being "subjective,"
She continued, "So my next movie [ Don't Worry Darling] has a 38 on Rotten Tomatoes, and I’ve been reflecting on how healthy it is to be reminded of how fickle it all is."
Notably, the HOUSE star marked her 23 years in Hollywood this year as she started working in 2003.
