Amy Adams becomes real-life hero in shocking stabbing incident

Amy Adams has revealed she was thrust into a terrifying real-life emergency after witnessing a violent stabbing in Santa Monica, and stepping in to help without hesitation.

The 51-year-old actress said she had just finished a relaxed dinner with her husband Darren Le Gallo, their teenage daughter and her father when the evening took a dramatic turn outside the restaurant. 

What began as distant shouting quickly escalated into panic as a badly injured man stumbled into view, bleeding heavily from a neck wound.

Amy explained that she and her father immediately ran towards the scene while Darren stayed back with their daughter. 

They realised the situation was critical and that the man needed urgent help before paramedics arrived.

The pair used whatever they had on hand, including towels to press against the wound in an attempt to slow the bleeding. 

The Enchanted actress later said her focus narrowed completely in those moments, as she tried to keep the man calm, encouraging him to stay still and breathe steadily while they waited for emergency services.

She admitted that some of her basic knowledge of emergency response came from a short-lived medical drama she worked on years earlier, which had unexpectedly given her a sense of how to react under pressure.

Thankfully, the man survived the attack. 

In a remarkable twist, Amy later crossed paths with him again around a year later at a restaurant. 

He approached her after recognising the story being shared, and the emotional reunion left her stunned as he introduced her to his son and personally thanked her for helping save his life.
