Olivia Rodrigo stuns fans with huge festival announcement

Pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo is turning a long-held dream into reality.

The 23-year-old chart-topper has announced Daisy Chain Fields, a brand-new festival set to take place in California on August 29. 

The event boasts an impressive line-up featuring fellow music stars Chappell Roan and KATSEYE, alongside a host of other female artists.

Sharing the exciting news with fans on Instagram, Olivia revealed she has been dreaming about creating the festival for years. 

The songstress said she was "so ecstatic" to finally see the project come to life and described the line-up as being packed with her "heroes and friends".

But Daisy Chain Fields is about more than just music. 

The deja vu singer confirmed that 100 per cent of the festival's net proceeds will be donated to charities supporting women and girls, including the Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, Planned Parenthood and the National Women's Law Center.

Speaking to Pitchfork, she explained that none of the performers will make a profit from the event. 

Instead, she hopes the festival will inspire young women by bringing together strong female role models in a joyful, community-focused environment.

"I feel like it's my calling in some weird way," she said, admitting the festival has been a dream of hers for a very long time.

The exciting announcement comes as Olivia continues to reflect on the pressures of fame. 

The traitor singer recently admitted growing up in the spotlight has left her feeling both mature and "stunted", as she struggles to make mistakes away from public scrutiny.
