The singer was dating her co-star from her famous, Wicked and has been in the spotlight as insiders said this was never going to have a "happy ending."

As per the reports by outlets like Page Six, it has now been revealed that the duo have not been doing well for months now.

An insider told the outlet, "If I had to look into my crystal ball would I think they would stay together? No."

They added that the former couple was on and off again and again before they went their separate ways months ago.

A source also added more to the story, "No-one thought they were together… they were on off, on off, on off."

Talking about their last appearance in public when the pop star hosted Saturday Night Live because, at that time too, the rumours were getting louder than ever about their breakup, "People definitely were surprised that Ethan turned up,"

It is to be noted that the duo first met on the set of the musical film, which was said to be their first big project.

Soon they got close and, according to some reports, it was revealed that they left their partners to be together as Ariana broke up with her husband of two years, Dalton Gomez, and later, Ethan left his baby mama, Lilly Jay, only after four months into Ariana's split.
