The former footballer achieved his own Hollywood Walk of Fame star on Friday, June 12, at a ceremony.

The event was also honoured by the presence of the Hollywood icon, Tom Cruise, but netizens are wondering what is this all for?

The online viewers have sparked major buzz after the ceremony's pictures went viral and questioned the authorities for making such a decision.

The "truly incredible" experience for David was questioned on social media as one person wrote on X, "Why does an Englishman who played football, get a on the Hollywood walk of fame?"

Another penned, "What’s his contributions to the movies ? Football sure, he made USA football but movies."

It is to be noted that the businessman was previously also knighted by King Charles III on November 4, 2025.

David also described his recent accomplishment as his "dream come true."
