Demi Moore is reportedly heartbroken after the sudden loss of her beloved micro chihuahua, Pilaf, who has died at just five years old.
The tiny pup, who became something of a celebrity in her own right, had been a constant companion to The Substance actress, often spotted by her side at red carpet events, interviews and glamorous trips around the world.
According to reports in the Mail on Sunday, Pilaf has not been seen on Demi’s Instagram since March 3, when the 63-year-old star last shared sweet snaps ahead of the Actor Awards.
The dog’s own social media page also hasn’t been updated since late February, sparking concern among fans before news of her passing emerged.
Pilaf, who had travelled everywhere with Ghost star, was once described by the actress as her “little friend” and “travel mate”.
She previously laughed in an interview with HELLO! magazine about how the tiny chihuahua even experienced luxury flights, museums and theatre outings, including a trip to see Romeo and Juliet in London, which she joked the pup found “extraordinary”.
The pocket-sized pooch had amassed around 30,000 followers on Instagram and was known for her confident personality despite being the “runt of the litter”.
Fans often adored the pair’s bond, with Indecent Proposal actress calling her a “star” who “knows it”.
Away from personal grief, she has also recently spoken about AI in Hollywood, saying it cannot replace “true art” as it comes from the soul.
Fans have since flooded social media with messages of support for the Striptease actress, remembering Pilaf as a tiny dog with a huge personality who often stole the spotlight wherever she went, both on screen appearances and behind-the-scenes moments shared online.
