Conan Gray has dished what he considers two of the greatest debut singles, and one of them came from his close friend Olivia Rodrigo.

The Heather singer and the Vampire crooner became friends around 2020 and connected over their shared love for Taylor Swift and now the former has name-dropped her.

As per Buzzing Pop on X, the Maniac singer said Pet Shop Boys’ West End Girls and Olivia’s Driver’s License as his top picks.

Conan had explained that the Drop Dead singer’s track was the first one that popped up in his head and added that he thought it was crazy that the synth-pop duo’s first ever song was one of their greatest hits.

Internet users took to the comments to share their opinions on the songwriter’s choices, with a majority disagreeing.

One netizen wrote, “is it possible because he hit his head on a pavement ?” with another adding, “It’s actually criminal by Fiona Apple.”
