Sheryl Crow recalls devastating moment she learned about Lance Armstrong

Sheryl Crow is opening up about a deeply difficult chapter in her life, revealing that she learned her then-fiancé Lance Armstrong had moved on with another woman while she was simultaneously battling a breast cancer diagnosis.

Speaking on the Bobbycast podcast, the Grammy-winning singer said that in 2006 she experienced a life-altering week: her engagement ended, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and she discovered Armstrong was dating a “really famous actress.”

Crow described the period as overwhelming, saying she went through months of treatment alongside intense grief and emotional distress. 

According to Page Six, she explained that she felt as though her personal and medical crises were unfolding at the same time, leaving her struggling to process both heartbreak and illness.

The singer and Armstrong had been together since 2003 and became engaged in 2005, but their relationship ended in February 2006.

Moreover, Crow said the breakup and diagnosis occurring so close together made that period especially destabilizing, forcing her to reevaluate her life and future plans.

Despite the emotional hardship, Crow has previously reflected that the experience ultimately led her to rebuild her life, later choosing motherhood through adoption and focusing on raising her two sons.

Armstrong has since moved on and is now married with children, while Crow has remained largely private about her romantic life in recent years.
