Anne Hathaway spoke about how having two kids has changed her approach to managing life and work.
During her latest chat, the 43-year-old actress revealed, "Before, there was this focus that was really uncompromising and uninterrupted."
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she stated, "And I just can’t tell you anymore what life is like without kids, but kids interrupt you all the time."
The Princess Diaries star went on to add, "My friends and I talk about it a lot, and we actually feel very defeated by the concept of balance."
Moreover, she added, "If the weight shifts in one direction, you then have to bounce it up on the other side, and we find that it winds us up as opposed to making us steady."
In an earlier interview with WSJ Magazine, she mentioned, “I didn’t feel fully landed and fully here until I was a mom… It made me want to be completely, on every level, true to my word.”
Furthermore, she emphasized keeping her professional life separate from her family, noting, “My family has needs, and one of the needs of children is that they need to be able to define their own lives… But they serve each other through me, and not through a space that’s outside of myself.”
Additionally, she explained to the host that her children should take their time and not rush into acting, because childhood only comes once and there will be time for a career later.
For the unversed, Anna Hathaway shares sons Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6, with her husband, Adam Shulman.
