Khloe Kardashian lifts lid on fears behind Lamar Odom reality show

Khloé Kardashian has revealed she once worried her whirlwind romance with Lamar Odom could put the entire Kardashian empire at risk.

The 41-year-old reality star has lifted the lid on her doubts over their short-lived spin-off show Khloé & Lamar.

She admitted that it was never her idea in the first place. 

Speaking in the upcoming Netflix docuseries Untold: The Death and Life of Lamar Odom, Khloé confessed she feared the series could “jeopardise the family brand” at the height of their fame.

At the time, the Kardashians were already dominating screens with Keeping Up with the Kardashians and multiple spin-offs, leaving the TV star feeling stretched thin. 

Insiders say she was concerned adding yet another show could dilute the brand that made the family household names.

But Lamar, then a star player for the Los Angeles Lakers, had other ideas. 

The former NBA champion admitted he relished the spotlight, even joking he was happy appearing on TV twice every Sunday, once on the court and once on-screen.

“I’m already Lamar Odom,” he recalled, describing the experience as a “power trip” as he tried to merge “Laker power” with “Kardashian power”. 

However, he later admitted he wasn’t prepared for the intensity that came with such fame.

For the unversed, the couple famously tied the knot in 2009 after just weeks of dating, in a romance that captivated fans worldwide. 

Though their marriage ultimately collapsed amid Lamar’s struggles with addiction, Khloé has since described him as “the love of my life”.
