Olivia Rodrigo sets record straight on relationship with Sabrina Carpenter

Olivia Rodrigo cleared the air on past rivalry speculation with Sabrina Carpenter.

It’s been couple of years since the two Grammy winners were rumoured to be part of a love triangle and was accused of having a beef with one another.

Rodrigo is said to have written her breakthrough song, Driver’s Licence about her co-star Joshua Bassett. When he was later spotted with Carpenter, fans wondered if she was "that blonde girl" from the lyrics in her song.

In an interview with the British Vogue, the So American hitmaker said, "I think she’s great. I’m so happy for all of her success too. I love the album she’s put out."

She added, "It’s all love, though. I’ve talked to her many times."

The assumptions further continued when Carpenter released her song Skin, which fans guessed was a response to Driver’s License.

The song included the lyrics, "Maybe you didn’t mean it/Maybe blonde was the only rhyme."

In years since then, both girls have been seen chatting at events and award shows, and even shared a hug at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

Rodrigo is now gearing up for the release of her highly anticipated third album, which has yet to get a release date or title.

Meanwhile, Carpenter has released her seventh studio album, Man’s Best Friend last year in August.
