Alex Cooper has admitted she made some painful mistakes when she first entered the media world, largely because she trusted people too easily.

The 30-year-old host of the hugely successful Call Her Daddy has built a multimillion-dollar media empire with her Unwell brand.

But Alex has now revealed that the road to success wasn’t always smooth and included some tough lessons about business and loyalty.

Speaking on The Burnouts, the star explained that she wishes she had documented more of her early deals in writing.

“I wish I would have put more things in writing so that I could back up what really happened,” she admitted.

Alex said emotions can easily blur the lines between business and personal relationships, something she discovered the hard way while building her brand.

“It’s so crazy how much emotion can get tied into business,” she said.

“Everyone says it’s business, not personal — but people take it very personal, especially when it’s your own company.”

The media mogul revealed that some of her biggest missteps came from being open and honest in conversations, only to have those discussions later twisted.

Now, Alex says she makes sure everything is clearly documented.

The star also lifted the lid on her massive 2021 deal with Spotify, reportedly worth around $60 million.

Interestingly, she revealed she had also received a similar offer from Amazon but ultimately chose Spotify.

At the time, she admits she was “so green” that she was even shocked to learn her agency, United Talent Agency, received the payments before taking their cut.

“I was like, ‘Wait, I want that in my bank account first!’” she laughed.
