The source of the iconic moonwalk by Michael Jackson is finally figured out.
Brother of the superstar has disclosed that the famous air walk has to deal with an 8-year-old.
Marlon Jackson stated that Jackson's family had something magical in the offing.
The 68-year-old visited WFAN radio this week and opened the door to the way the King of Pop practiced his motion before making it available to the world in 1983.
They had seen Michael rehearse the step at Motown 25 special, the primetime event, during which he would first reveal the now-legendary step.
The move, however, was not entirely the brainchild of Michael.
Marlon revealed that the first person that introduced him to the moonwalk was his nephew who was not in his family side but in the family of his wife.
The young relative gave Michael what is now known as the backwards slide. It comes Jeffrey Daniel, who was a professional dancer and perfected the technique and taught Michael how to do it perfectly.
"Then Jeffrey Daniel taught Michael how to do the backwards slide, and Michael renamed it the moonwalk," Marlon added.
Billie Jean was performed by Michael on March 25, 1983 at Motown 25 and history was made.
His signature overnight breakthrough was due to the moonwalk which is replicated by dancers across the world.
It is pertinent to mention that what began as a simple movement of 8-year-old had turned out to be the immortality of pop culture.
